April 21, 2007 - NEWTOWN — Homegoing services for Robert A. Alsop, who departed this life Wednesday, April 18, 2007, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Sparta, Va., with the Revs. Jared Beasley and T. Scott Swan officiating. Interment will follow in the First Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Jerusalem Baptist Church. The family will assemble at 2 p.m. Sunday at the residence.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Adell Alsop; one sister, Dr. Bessie A. Stanback (Willard); one brother, Simon Alsop (Iris); two sisters-in-law, Etta Alsop and Mrytle Alsop.
