Joseph C. Boyden, age 81, of Muskegon passed away Sunday, December 24, 2006, at his home. He was born February 27, 1925, to Katherine (Miller) and Joseph C. Boyden, Sr. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and he married the former Dorothy Reding on November 4, 1946, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Mr. Boyden resided in Nunica for most of his life and was employed as a quality control foreman for Campbell, Wyant, and Cannon for 43 years. Mr. Boyden served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Boyden was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing all over Michigan and also in Florida during the winter season. He was a member of the Lithuanian Club in Muskegon for many years, and he also enjoyed bowling.

Mr. Boyden is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; 2 daughters, Sandy (Dan) Dunning of Fruitport and Linda (Bob) Lemieux of Coopersville; 3 grandchildren: Dan (Samantha) Dunning of Fruitport, Scott Lemieux of Nunica, and Casey Lynn Lemieux of Nunica. He is also survived by a nephew, George (Nancy) Dobry of Twin Lake and his fishing partner and close friend, George Carter. Mr. Boyden was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dennis Boyden.
