BOGALUSA - Levell George Collum, 76, a native of Bogalusa, died yesterday. A retired structural ironworker, he served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hope during World War II, served as president to his shipmates through annual ship reunions, was a member of First Baptist Church and American Legion Post 24.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Rose Malley Collum; three children and their spouses, Linda Collum (Len) Busby, George Alan (Terri Lynn) Collum, and Donald Wayne (Pam) Collum; grandchildren, Holly Collum (Paul) Cotton, John Alan Collum, Allen Frank Busby, Kevin George Busby and Matthew Clint Collum; great-grandchildren, Taylor Marie Cotton, Hayden George Cotton and Zack Cotton; a brother-in-law, Robert Ward (Helen) Malley; nieces, Jackie Rayborn Sears, Peggy Sue Collum Briese and Aloel Malley Jacobs; and nephews, Larry Jo Malley and Kinsley Malley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Estelle Collum King; a sister, Evelyn Collum Guttirez; brothers, Lawrence, Oscar, William and Melvin Collum; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John A. and Bobbie Holmes Malley.
