Daniel J. Lott

Daniel John "D.J." Lott, 85, of Poplarville, Mississippi died Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Wesley Medical Center, Hattiesburg. Reverend Tommy Anthony will officiate at the service.
A native of Bogalusa, Louisiana he was born August 13, 1925 to John Wiley and Ola Mae Coulter Lott. He was a retired carpenter and the Founder & Owner of LLL Construction in Poplarville, a member of West Poplarville Baptist Church, a Lifetime member of VFW Post 4196 in Poplarville, Mississippi; and a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II – receiving two Purple Hearts for wounds he received during his service in the South Pacific. He also served as a Constable in Pearl River County from 1962 until 1969 and a Deputy Sheriff under JP Walker and Beulah Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Wilamena Herndon Lott; two sons, Keith Lott and Mickey Lott; one daughter, Cindy Wells, all of Poplarville, Mississippi; one brother, B.L. Lott of Picayune, Mississippi; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sons, Danny John Lott, Gary Wayne Lott, and Glynda Larue Lott; and one granddaughter, Jessica Lott.
