Dorothy Santrock, 79, passed away Friday, December 25, 1998. Mrs. Santrock served in the U.S. Army during World War II as an Army Nurse on the U.S.S. Hope Hospital Ship. This is where she met her husband to be, Joel Santrock. They were married on February 14, 1947 in New Haven Connecticut and moved to Haddon Township in New Jersey where she raised her family. She was a resident of Corpus Christi-Flour Bluff for 20 years and was an active volunteer in many community projects and in her church, St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joel H. Santrock of Corpus Christi, Texas; three sons, Joel T. Santrock of Harlingen, Texas, Michael (Kathleen) Santrock of Corpus Christi, Texas and Greg (Patricia) Santrock of Great Meadows, New Jersey; three daughters, Roberta (Robert) Gommel of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Suzanne (Charles) Wood, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Patricia (Thomas) Bucht of Hillsboro, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
