GREENSBORO – Ike Moore, age 93, of Greensboro, passed away Monday January 27, 2014 at Clapp's Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday January 30, 2014 at Forbis & Dick N. Elm Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Ike Moore was born May 7, 1920 in Chatham County NC to the late Walter and Hessie Mae Moore. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and was award the Purple Heart and three bronze service stars. Mr. Moore was a member Faithway Baptist Church and a member of Gideon's International. He also worked for Seven-Up Bottling and Neese's Sausage.

Mr. Moore is survived by his daughter Linda Moore Andrews and husband John, grandsons Daniel Ireland and Rev. Jerry Ireland, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Florence Talbert Moore, and brothers Henry Moore and Dewey Moore.
