Alton R. Morris, 69, of Charlottesville died Thursday, Jan 12, 1965, in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Augusta County to the late Robert Morris and Mabel Hicks Morris. Mr. Morris proudly served his country in World War II with the U.S. Navy and in Korea with the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Elsie F. Morris; his daughter, Deborah Grady, and her husband John, of North Garden; his stepson, Gary W. Frazier, and his wife Valerie, of Charlottesville; two sisters, Doris Roach and Edith Shifflett, both of Crozet; his brother, Alvin Morris of Charlottesville; four grandchildren, John Travis Grady, Robert Matthew Grady, of North Garden, Brittany Frazier and Andrew Frazier of Charlottesville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Morris. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Teague Chapel with the Mr. Ralph Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Teague Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
