ESSEX — It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne F. Perry on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005. Wayne completed his life journey in the presence of his loving children.

He was born in Mendon, Jan. 19, 1919, the son of the late Fletcher and Ethel Perry. In 1955, he was married to Irene Daby. Wayne led a wonderful life. He enlisted in the Army during World War II and was sent overseas. When he returned home, he went back to work at Preston Jewelers' where he worked until 1957. In April of 1957, Wayne was hired at IBM in Essex Junction, and worked there for 26 years.

He loved spending time with his family. Wayne was well known to his friends and family as a "Character". He was always full of witty remarks and charm, and will be missed by all. Wayne lost the love of his life, Irene in 2001, and with the help of friends and family, was able to remain at the home that he loved.

He is survived by his children, Jean Lontine and her husband, Mike, of Barefoot Bay, Fla., David Perry and his wife, Chantal, of Bakersfield, Alan Perry of Shelburne, and Jennifer Baranski and her husband, Mike, of Monkton; his three grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon and Taylor Perry; and by his brothers, Bud Perry and Paul Perry and his wife, Mary. Wayne also leaves many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the wonderful people at The Vermont Respite House in Williston, and the Visiting Nurse Association.
