CORRIGAN -- Services for Elwin V. Seago, 79, of Corrigan, were held Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Corrigan, with Reverend Frank Hood and Rever-end James Sheorrock officiating. Interment followed in the Damascus Cemetery in Polk County. Mr. Seago was born May 1, 1925, in Shelby County, Texas, the son of the late Lillie (Emmons) and Halford Seago. He passed away Sunday, September 12, 2004, at his residence in Corrigan.

Mr. Seago was a forester, and had worked for Southland Paper Mill for 22 years. He was a resident of Corrigan for 51 years. He was a 1951 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, with a Bachelor of Forestry degree. Mr. Seago loved to fish and hunt, and loved sports, especially the Corrigan Bulldogs and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, a former director of the Texas Forestry Association, and a member of the Society of the American Forestry Gulf States Section. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Corrigan.

Survivors include his wife, Chris-tine Seago of Corrigan; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Renee’ Seago of Corrigan; John and Cathy Seago of Willis and Terry and Mary Helen Seago of Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and L.D. Rumfield of Flower Bluff; grandchildren, Vickie Graeber, Dayna Rumfield, Chris Seago, Lucus Rumfield, Allona Sloan, J.R. Seago, Joel Seago, Julie Warner, Stacey Ferguson and Clint Payne; 14 great-grandchildren; nu-merous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Mr. Seago was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Seago and Garland Seago; and sisters, Madie Koonce and Gertrude Ryan.
