Earl J. Sinitiere, 83, passed away at 12:28 AM Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at his residence in Lafayette, Louisiana. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Elmonia Guillory Sinitiere; two sons, William Earl Sinitiere and his wife, Debra Sinitiere and Daniel Ray Sinitiere and his wife, Brenda V. Sinitiere, all of Lafayette; his six grandchildren, Ryan Sinitiere, Matthew Sinitiere, Meagan Sinitiere, Jessica Holloway, Jill LeBlanc and Kimberley Hebert; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Marnell Castille and Mercedes Cullota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Ernest Sinitiere, Sr. and Cora Martin Sinitiere; and one brother, Edward Sinitiere, Jr.

Mr. Sinitiere was a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, born on September 19, 1923 to his parents, Edward Ernest Sinitiere, Sr. and the former Cora Marie Martin.

He was a veteran of military service, having served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945 in the Pacific with the 96th Infantry Division. Mr. Sinitiere took part in the invasion of Okinowa and Leyte Island. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Sinitiere was employed with Orkin Exterminating Company for 40 years and worked until the age of 81. He was a hardworking man and took great pride in his family. Mr. Sinitiere was a loving husband, father, great grandfather and brother who will be truly missed.
