Walter Richard Snyder, 82, of Omaha, NE died Saturday, January 17, 1998 at the Aksarben Manor in Omaha. Mr. Snyder was formerly of Plattsmouth, NE.

Mr. Snyder was born to Sherman and Harriet (Sieger) Snyder on November 26, 1915 in Derry, PA. On Oceober 6, 1945, he married Gertrude Marcella Harr in Westmoreland County, PA.

Born, raised and schooled in Derry, Mr. Snyder entered the US Army and served in the Pacific. Afterward, he worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad for 10 years. He moved to Iowa where he farmed until retiring in 1980. He then moved to Plattsmouth. He was a member of the Bellevue Assembly of God.

Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, William and Jack Snyder and sister, Grace Manzulich.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth & Barbara of Hostetter, PA, Walter R. Jr. & Lori of Bellvue, Sherman & Darla of Walnut, IA, daughter & son-in-law Anna & Ellis Richardson of Beaver Lake, NE; 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
