Frederick Erwin Voeltner, 84, of Wendell, NC, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on April 18, 1925, to Frederick Frank and Agnes Vogel Voeltner.

He was employed at several different companies through the years, but Square D Company decided to move from Milwaukee to North Carolina and Fred was chosen as one of the few to break ground for the new plant and a new way of life for the people of Knightdale and the surrounding communities.

He held memberships in a number of organizations throughout his life including the BPOElks Club, The Lions Club of Wendell, The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (Past President), American Legion Post #148, Disabled American Veterans, Catholic Golden Agers, USS Hope Reunion Committee (Past President), and Wake County Tax Watch Assoc. As long as his health permitted, he and Erdine were faithful and active members of Saint Eugene's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Erdine; son, Frederick A. Voeltner and his wife Christine, their daughter Susan M. Blythe and her husband James; five grandchildren, Frederick J. Voeltner, William A. Voeltner, Erica M. Blythe, James M. Blythe and Andrew F. Blythe; sister, Lorraine Gaedtke; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Reverend Bill Morgan of DAV Post #1.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel and Margie and brother Gordon.

He is interred in Greenmount Cemetery, Wendell, NC 27591.
