James "Jim" Junior Walter, son of James Alfred and Agnes Lucille (Findley) Walter was born on a farm near Prescott, Iowa May 2, 1926. He entered into rest on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 87 year 11 months and 16 days.

Jim attended grade school at Prescott Community School, three years at Corning High School and graduated from Nodaway High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served his country during WWII in the Phillipines and Japan on board an L.S.T in the South Pacific. He received his honorable discharge May 12, 1946.

On September 12, 1948 Jim was united in marriage to Dorothy Marie Harvey at the Mt Zion Church south of Brooks. They began their married life farming with Dorothy's parents. In 1969 they purchased their home in Corning where he resided until moving to the Good Samaritan Home in Villisca, IA. Jim was a member of the Iowa Suffolk Sheep Assoc.

Left to cherish Jim's memory are his children: Doug (Janice) Walter of Altoona, IA; David L. (Kim) Walter of Corning, IA; Randy Walter and Risa Sederburg of Villisca, IA, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, brother, Max (Mae) Walter of Omaha, NE, sister-in-law, Ruby Walter of Corning, IA, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy in 2010; brothers Robert, Franklin "Red" and Clair Walter.
